Located on the north coast of Caithness, Thurso is mainland Scotland's most northerly town.
The old part of the town is a great place to explore, with its ruins of Old St Peter's Church and ancient streets that are lined with impressive buildings and individual retailers. Our excursions take us through some of the areas spectacular scenery to the town of Wick, famous in the 19th Century for the "silver darlings" - herring. Today the harbour remains busy, while the town retains much of its Viking history. We travel to John o' Groats, with its craft shops and stunning views across to the Islands and Canisby Kirk. We also include entry to the favourite residence of the late Queen Mother, the Castle of Mey. You have the opportunity to catch the ferry from John o' Groats to Orkney for a guided day trip of the Island, or alternatively enjoy some leisure time exploring Thurso.
