The Isle of Skye offers visitors unforgettable scenery at every turn, with vast mountains, heather covered moors and rushing waterfalls. While travelling around Skye you come to appreciate what an ancient place this is. There are said to be dinosaur footprints in the rocks at Staffin Bay and there are Neolithic chambered cairns and stone circles scattered throughout the countryside. The quaint village of Kyleakin was once a busy ferry port, today the attractive harbour is home to the Bright Water Visitor Centre, celebrating the natural heritage of the area. We tour the island stopping at various places of interest, including Portree, the Islands capital town and a busy fishing port. As well as a quaint harbour full of fishing vessels and pleasure crafts, Portree is home to cosy cafes and a selection of individual retailers selling local crafts.
